OCCUPATION: Im a full-time student at Loyola High School
NICKNAME: I have too many nicknames to keep track of them all! Ty… Alex… Smajje… You could call me a completely random name and it probably won’t be the first time somebody has referred to me by it.
FUN FACT ABOUT YOU: I used to be an avid figure skater. I still love to skate and it will always be one of my favorite pastimes.
WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE INSTRUCTOR AND WHY? I love all of the instructors at The Green Yogi! If I had to choose a favorite it would be Amy B. Her high energy classes are diverse and allow yogis to explore new poses, and truly access the poses your body needs. I always leave the class having learned something new and feeling like an entirely new person.
WHAT IS YOUR INTENTION FOR YOUR YOGA PRACTICE? My intention for my yoga practice is to become an overall better person. I try my best everyday to brighten others days, but there is always room for improvement. You can alway become a better/more loving person.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE YOGA POSE? I may get a few strange looks for saying this, but my favorite pose is virabhadrasana II (Warrior II).
WHAT SONG SHOULD BE ON EVERY YOGA PLAYLIST? “Human” by Christina Perry.
WHAT INSPIRES YOU? I’m inspired by everybody. Every person has positive and negative qualities, and I bielive we all need to adopt the positive characteristics of those we meet.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN PRACTICING AND HOW HAS YOGA IMPROVED YOUR LIFE? I was first introduced to yoga just over a year ago, but my practice has truly become consistant just over a month ago. Yoga has allowed me to take a positive, fresh outlook on life and people. I believe that overtime I take the time to practice, I become a better person. I have become a nicer, more loving person because of yoga.
