FUN FACT ABOUT ME: I have a pedicab operator’s license and have been known to drive people around in a rickshaw from time to time.
WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE INSTRUCTOR AND WHY? When I first started coming to The Green Yogi, I would attend Megan’s classes on weekday mornings. I love her sunny disposition, and that she takes advantage of consistent groups of students and moves us through different themes from week to week.
WHAT IS YOUR INTENTION FOR YOUR YOGA PRACTICE? Mostly to stay calm and focused. Since I work in technology, I spend a lot of time negotiating multiple streams of information from day to day and it’s easy to get distracted. Yoga gives me the opportunity to direct my attention inward and find time to just be in the moment.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE YOGA POSE? Any inversion – it’s good to change your perspective on the world and what better way than to be upside-down!
WHAT SONG SHOULD BE ON EVERY YOGA PLAYLIST? John Cage’s 4’33” (That’s code for saying I like silence when practicing).
WHAT INSPIRES YOU? Small gestures of patience, generosity & kindness.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN PRACTICING AND HOW HAS YOGA IMPROVED YOUR LIFE? Since the 90’s. I started practicing in earnest while living in Boston. I’ve been an athlete since I was a kid, but yoga gives me something beyond that. I became a more serious student as I studied with some well-known teachers, and have found a great community of friends through yoga.
