Meet Bob Healey, our Green Yogi of the Month for November! We are so excited to honor him this month as our Manduka Sponsored yogi. Bob has been practicing with us since late 2010 and has slowly but surely upped the number of times he practices almost every single month. We are grateful we’ve been able to support him on his yogic journey and are so proud of all his accomplishments. Congratulations Bob! Read on to Be Inspired, Kelly

NICKNAME: fun bobby
FUN FACT ABOUT YOU: I was a javelin thrower in college
WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE INSTRUCTOR AND WHY? Sorry, no favorites at Green Yogi, each has a unique style of sequences and a flow I admire and appreciate. I learn, learned, and learning something from every one of them and my favorites I’ve had the privilege of practicing under are: Tamal, Jamie, Heather, Anne, Amy, Linda, Julie, Wendy, and Mary – Thank you all! You are a great team!
WHAT IS YOUR INTENTION FOR YOUR YOGA PRACTICE? To achieve the sensation of something similar that I experience after a good surf session – “surfed out” or said differently, being stoked and just chill after the physical and mental challenge associated with each class. It’s a place I get to go on any day, no matter if the surf is good or not, and enjoy that sensation of feeling satisfied about the fact my mind and body got to expand and flow with breathing energy.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE YOGA POSE? Warrior 2
WHEN YOU AREN’T ON THE MAT, WHERE CAN WE FIND YOU? In the ocean, working or eating tasty food
WHAT SONG SHOULD BE ON EVERY YOGA PLAYLIST? Anything written by Jack Johnson.
WHAT INSPIRES YOU? People who appreciate how good we have it here every day – living in the southern California beach cities and all the amenities and luxuries we have available to us.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN PRACTICING AND HOW HAS YOGA IMPROVED YOUR LIFE? About 9 years and a lot more in last several years. I can’t imagine my life w/out my weekly practice sessions. It helps me do the physical things I love and enjoy, especially surfing good waves. As importantly, it keeps my mind calm and clear when work and other related pressures of life enter in. I’m also amazed and can’t understand how so many others have not discovered yoga and made it part of their routine. The world would be a better place if they did!
