Farm Fresh To You

About 2 months ago I signed my family up for Farm Fresh To You‘s delivery service.  The concept is organic produce delivered directly to our doorstep from Farm Fresh To You’s family farm or other local organic farmers.

I’d heard about the service for years from yogis at The Green Yogi and a friend of mine from high school actually founded Hello Harvest (they don’t deliver to Manhattan Beach, otherwise I’d support him!) and decided to try it out.

To start I signed up for the small non-cook fruits and veggies to be delivered bi-monthly. I loved waking up to a big box of fresh food on our doorstep! Since our first delivery we’ve had 3 more and every time I have to say I’m very pleased with the contents and quality of fruits and vegetables. Because it’s summer we’ve been getting a ton of stone fruits, tomatoes, peppers, and celery. As well as sprinklings of avocados, cucumbers, and melons. I also love the inclusion of an information sheet that highlights the fruit or veggie of the week and some recipes on how to incorporate them into your meals.

On the bi-monthly plan you don’t get enough fruits or veggies to last until the next delivery, at least at my house where we each eat at least 3 pieces of fruit a day! But the variety is nice and the surprise of what you’re going to get allows me to try out different dishes than my usual go-tos. I also like knowing where our food is coming from and supporting local sustainable farmers producing seasonal fruits and veggies.

If you feel like you’re in a rut with your produce and want to cut down on your trips to the store and farmer’s markets I’d highly recommend the service. Eat healthy to live healthy!

Be Inspired,

Kelly
