Luck of the Greenish

The cultural and religious holiday Saint Patrick’s Day is this Sunday and to honor the green beer and guinness patron saint Patrick, there are $10 classes all weekend at The Green Yogi!

Sure, St. Patty’s Day and yoga might not seem like the obvious couple when popular activities include eating corned beef, consuming copious amounts of alcohol, and putting green food coloring in every processed item at the grocery store…  But why not?

Want to have Irish food? Eat fermented sauerkraut, it can improve carbohydrate metabolism and increase weight loss.  Want to indulge in green colored foods?  May I suggest spinach, kale, broccoli, cucumbers, cabbage, brussel sprouts, or celery.  All delicious and chock full of antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and fiber. Want to drink green liquid?  I’m pretty excited about The Green Yogi’s new(ish) next door neighbor, Kreationand their Green Juice, delicious.  Want to wear green?  Think about The Chakras, the color green is significant because it relates to the fourth chakra and symbolizes harmony and interconnectedness among all living things.

Does this not seem celebratory enough?  Then celebrate both ways, yoga in the morning followed by healthy brunch and a pub in the afternoon, maybe the evening, and possibly even the wee hours of the morning.  Life is about balance right?  In the meantime, these photos are pretty funny shockingly scary.

Be Inspired,

Kelly
