Kirtan

With Christmas behind me and the New Year less than a week away I have a number of possible resolutions on my mind…

Health is always top of mind coming off the holiday season but this year especially I’d like to focus on the mental and emotional side of my health.

Not because I’m not happy.  But there’s always new experiences to be had!  There are so many aspects of yoga I feel I haven’t yet experienced.  I want to explore the mental side of my yoga practice while my physical side gets sweaty, strong and toned as a bonus.

To get me started in 2013 I’m excited for BhaktiMa to join Chelsea Welch at The Green Yogi to create an unforgettable night of Kirtan.  Not sure what Kirtan is? It is a form of devotional music focused on love and celebration, originally from India.  When played during a yoga class it creates a form of devotional yoga resulting in a dance of rhythm and word.  With BhaktiMa yogis experience an uplifting journey of sound where practicers meld with the performers forming a single current of energy moving Kirtan. What a cool way to spend a Friday night!
