Hi, I am Katie Bressack and yes I am a chocoholic!
I love seeing someone smile in pure happiness after I tell them to eat more chocolate. As a health coach I give “permission” to women to eat more chocolate. You see, chocolate in its pure form, Cacao, is super healthy for you. Cacao has no sugar in it and contains fiber, iron, magnesium, chromium, manganese, copper and Vitamin C. It also has the highest concentration of antioxidants of any food in the world, which is great for anti-aging. Cacao also increases our moods and desire (hence why it is called the love drug) and decreases our stress levels.
Women should eat more chocolate, especially around that time of the month. Right before your cycle starts, your iron and magnesium levels drop in your body. This is why you start to crave chocolate because your body is looking for those minerals. The average candy bar doesn’t contain any of these essential nutrients, instead it is loaded with sugar and dairy among other artificial flavors and colors. So you might eat some M&M’s thinking this will solve your chocolate craving, instead you might find yourself eating the entire bag and then searching for more. If you replace your M&M’s with some real chocolate, you can satisfy your cravings and provide your body with what it needs to get back into balance.
Guys… pick your ladies up some chocolate, you’ll be a hero!
