On a recent trip to Colorado my cousin shared a beautiful quote with me from the 14th century by the poet Hafiz of Shiraz.
“Even after all this time, the sun never says to the earth: You owe me. Just think what a love like that does. It lights the whole sky.”
I experience that love through yoga whether I’m practicing at The Green Yogi or at home.
Love like that is unconditional and life changing. Love like that begins with ourselves because if we don’t have self love we can’t recognize what true love is. Love like that has power and is available within us at any moment to free us from our limitations. However, it requires practice and intent to allow this kind of love to permeate our daily experiences.
If you don’t love something about your life it is up to you to decide when to start your journey towards unconditional love. I recommend the sooner the better, so get yourself to a yoga class!
Deepak Chopra described the process of letting love manifest beautifully in Ageless Body Timeless Mind, “Love is considered the most basic emotion that human awareness can feel; therefore, it is the closest to the source of life. The burst of well-being you feel when you fall in love is due to the fact that you unconsciously open the channels of awareness that allow more Prana [Life Force] to flow.”
