Summer is definitely my favorite time of year. I always look forward to long lazy weekend days soaking up a little sunshine, walks on the strand, time to catch up on my stack of books, New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs with fruit and cheese, al fresco dining under twinkle lights, vacations, and lots of sweaty yoga.
A new weekly activity (that’s free!) and has made my “things to look forward to” list this summer are Concerts in the Park. In Manhattan Beach they take place every Sunday from 5-7 pm at Polliwog Park and if you’re not an MB local, most cities have some variation of a summer concert series, just check your city’s website. If you want to go a little bigger there’s always the Hollywood Bowl Sunday Concerts!
Two weeks ago my husband, baby, and I showed up at 4:45, found a shaded spot, broke out our picnic blanket, cheese and crackers and of course some vino. To entertain us Ronny and the Classics took the stage and played some of the best hits from the 50’s and 60’s and provided an excellent soundtrack for our evening. During the concert we saw lots of Green Yogi friends, danced with our wee one, and decided it’s a summer tradition definitely worth repeating.
How do you spend your summer days?
